Mixed Berry Yogurt Bliss Smoothie

I love this smoothie; the goal during my pregnancy is to make sure that I provide everything my baby needs without sacrificing my own nutrition.

Due to my advanced maternal age ..:) and my history of high blood pressure, I am what the Doctors call a high- risk pregnancy. I have been very careful of what I eat and drink.

I found some amazing products to make this smoothie. Siggi’s yogurt, the only yogurt I found in the market with 5 grams of sugar for the 5-ounce serving.

Barney Butter, one of the best. I am allergic to peanut butter and the Bare Barney Almond Butter has no added salt or sugar, and it is peanut and gluten free and tastes delicious.

Barney Butter is little expensive but lately I been lucky to find some at Home Goods and TJ Max for almost half of the original price.

So let’s go over the ingredients in this delicious smoothie.

Almond butter contains calcium and healthy fats. Banana contains vitamin B6 which is great for the baby’s developing central nervous system. It also contains potassium which is great for the night leg cramps.

Yogurt, good source of calcium, also contains protein for your baby’s rapidly growing cells. I also love berries, they are delicious and packed with folic acid and fiber which helps prevent birth defects.

What You Will Need:

1 Frozen banana

1 tablespoon almond butter

½ cup frozen mix berries

2-tablespoons plain yogurt

1 cup low fat milk or water

A couple drops of vanilla extract

Blend all the ingredients together until smooth. If the mixture is too thick, add more milk or water for the consistency you like.
